1/17 Activities Update -- Girls basketball staves off Comets comeback

Girls Basketball vs Waupaca -- W 62-56
The Foxes were able to withstand the start of a second-half comeback by the Comets to claim the NEC win. Olivia Krahn gave the Foxes a 35-22 lead at the half on a buzzer-beater. The Comets came back at the start of the second half, trailing by only three with 10 minutes to go. Three of the Comets' key players fouled out before the game's end, and Maddie Jacobsen went 5-for-6 at the free-throw line in the final minutes to secure the win. Emily Jaenke led the Foxes with 20 points and 10 rebounds, and Sara Mears added 14 points and eight rebounds.

The JV1 girls had a monster win over the Comets, taking the game 52-6. Leading scorers were Nina Hartjes and Riley Pink with nine points apiece.
